OPEN QUESTIONS • Start sentence with ‘What..’, ‘How..’, ‘Why..’ or • active verb (‘Tell me..’, ‘Which way..’) • Focus on acquiring opinion, feeling, knowledge • Create active and efficient communication • Provide a broader picture of the situation • Chance of many irrelevant aspects
SUGGESTIVE QUESTIONS • Implicitly or explicitly give an answer or include • a judgement on the answer • Answer is often unreliable (‘socially acceptable’)
EVALUATING QUESTIONS • To check the other person’s feelings • To summarize (a part of) the discussion • To conclude on a conversation • To create a breakpoint/ new starting point in • the conversation
