The power that white words had over the words of the African American teens is still frightening today. The teens on trial did not have appropriate representation, did not have a fair jury, and faced a racist people. Racism did indeed have a great impact on the outcome of the Scottsboro Trials. These trials remain relevant today as people witness racial profiling and other stereotypes that exist in the legal system.
