Click File->New Root Folder • Enter name for Folder, Click “OK” Create new Root Folder
Open ArcGIS Desktop, as normal • Click DataSpace icon in the toolbar to open DataSpace window • Click the add data button • Navigate to desired data • Click the “Add” button • Drag layer from Table of Contents, drop in DataSpace window Adding data elements to DataSpace

Method 1 • Drag and Drop data element to new location • Method 2 • Right click on data element, Click “Cut” • Right click folder to place data element in • Click “Paste” Move Data element in DataSpace

Create folder on file share server • Copy data to file share • Follow steps in “Create new Root Folder” • Follow steps in “Adding data elements to DataSpace” • Right click on root folder, Click “Export to DataSpace XML” • Navigate to the Folder created in step one • Name the file “GIS.XML” • Click “Save” • Close and reopen DataSpace Create new server node
