About Ben Serebin • Working in the IT sector since 1996 • Specialty is Exchange Server, Spam Filtering, and Wireless (802.11a/b/g/n) • Hands-on database troubleshooting with Exchange 5.5 (some), 2000 (least), and 2003 (most). • Run own Exchange 2003 Server, BlackBerry Exchange Server, and had run Good Mobile Messaging Server.
Overview • New York Exchange User Group (NYExUG) focus is Microsoft Exchange Server technology. • Exchange Server, the Microsoft messaging and collaboration server is the market leading software solution that enables sending and receiving electronic mail and other forms of interactive communication through computer networks. • Meetings are free (free pizza dinner), open to all, excellent raffle items (e.g. Office 2007 Professional, Vista Ultimate, & Exchange 2003 Server), network with other Exchange users, learn about jobs, and a great learning environment for folks. • New York Exchange [Server] User Group meets 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm at Microsoft’s NYC office & LiveMeeting web streaming (free as well).
How To Find NYExUG Information 2 Mailing Lists • NYExUG Announce Mailing List - meetings, events, etc. Send an email to join@nyexug.com and you’ll be added to the mailing list. Email volume is 2-4 messages a month on average. • NYExUG User Mailing List - for posting comments, and general talk among members. Typical Meeting (how we spend our time) • 6:00pm - Doors open at Microsoft Office (6th Fl) • 6:00pm - Pizza Arrives • 6:00pm – 6:30pm – Networking with our Exchange admins / users and Q&A about Exchange • 6:30pm – Welcome to Meeting and discuss • 6:45pm – Main Presentation about Exchange Topic or Vendor Product Demonstration • 8:30-9pm End time (typically) – Raffle Items
