  3. Major Activities • Production, procurement and marketing of high value products, fruit and vegetables • Offering services to small farmers by procuring and marketing agricultural products

  4. The Company Has • Irrigation system for 34 ha of vegetables • 30 ha - drip irrigation • 4 ha - sprinkling • New orchards - 30 ha • 7 new tractors with implements for proper production technologies • Low tunnels for early vegetable growing

  7. Requirements to agricultural products change, we now need GlobalGAP certification. We have started taking the necessary steps for obtaining certification. To comply with GlobalGAP requirements the products need to be sorted, packaged and stored. In order to better comply with the supermarket requirements the deliveries should be consistent over a longer period of time. Unfortunately, currently our products are sold directly from the field.   9. Advantages (1) • The company owns a good lot for construction strategically located along the Chisinau-Balti road. • All the utility networks are in place: electric power, water, sewage system. • All the permits from the local authorities have been obtained.

  10. Advantages (2) • Establishment of packing houses is envisaged in the Government strategy and subsidizing policy. • This will be the first vegetable packing house in Moldova. • Packing house design has been completed by a specialized construction design company.

  11. Packing House Design (1) • Total capacity- 1,000 m² • 6 cold storage rooms with 540 ton capacity • Precooling room • Sorting and packaging lines for fruit and vegetables in various packages, both for exports and supermarkets

Packing House Design (2) • The company’s output will be used to fill the packing house by 50% (during 12 months of the year) • Another 50% - produce collectedfrom farmers from the neighborhood regions: Orhei, Telenesti, Rezina, Straseni • 1,500 tons of produce will be processed by the packing house during one year • 15 new jobs

  13. Packing House Costs • 20,000,000 lei or 1,200,000 Euros • Investment repayment period – 5 years Note:Obtaining loans for such projects in Moldova is problematic because of the lack of inexpensive or long term loans on the market
