National pandemic preparedness plan The plan highlights - community participation - multi-sector/ international cooperation - national capacity building for disease surveillance, outbreak containment and impact mitigation National Strategic plan on Avian Influenza and Pandemic Influenza Preparedness The plan is coordinated and monitored by a National Committee

Important response • Application national strategies of pandemic preparedness to H1N1 2009 • Comprehensive surveillance (virus, human) and emergency response • Communication to public :- current situation, self prevention from H1N1 (hand washing, mask use, social distancing) • Medical treatment, antiviral use prescribed by physicians • Influenza vaccine production in country

Comprehensive surveillance • Monitoring – pattern of influenza characteristics (place-time-person, attack rate, death and risk factors) • Outbreak Investigation • Sentinel surveillance of ILI (12 regional centers + BKK) • Laboratory monitoring, virology parameter • Model and Simulation/ Projection study to better understand and response
