History • On Dec. 15, 1999, Apple had the idea of making a phone that could use a mobile version of iTunes • From 2002-2004, Apple posted trademarks all over the world about their new idea. • On Dec. 16, 2004, Motorola agreed to work to work with them on their idea. • After 9 months the phone was complete. It was called the ROKR. • In 2006, Apple had another great idea. They were going to expand off of the idea of the ROKR. Once again the posted trademarks about this all over the world. • On Jan. 9, 2007, the iPhone was complete. • TIME magazine names the iPhone the invention of the year on Oct. 31, 2007. • Just last summer the iPhone became 3G.
Bad Things • The battery life is really bad. • You can’t replace the battery of an iPhone. • iPhones are very sensitive to water. • They don’t have a physical keyboard which makes it harder to type.
Good Things • iPhones have a touch screen that is almost impossible to scratch. • Buttons on the side that can adjust your sound. • The music stops once a call comes and then comes back once you’re done on the call. • Instead of trying to find the buttons that take you where you want to go, you touch something on a screen called an application. (App)
Apps • Are tiny squares on the main screen. • You access your extra features by tapping these on the main screen. • Apps can be anything. They can be stocks, e-mail, or games. • You get 15 apps when you buy your iPhone.
Pricing • The 8GB iPhone is $199(plus tax) • The 16GB iPhone is $299 (plus tax) • The monthly bills range from $30-$100.
