  1. Lane W. MartinAssistant Professor, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign CAREER: Enhanced Pyroelectric and Electrocaloric Effects in Complex Oxide Thin Film Heterostructures • Primary Research Interest: • New insight into the underlying physics/mechanisms of thermo-electrical responses (i.e., pyroelectric and electrocaloric effects) in complex oxide materials • Investigation of novel routes to produce large entropic changes with applied fields in materials • Magneto-electro-caloric & pyro-electric-magnetic effects • Primary Broader Impact Activity: • Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program together with UIUC Chapter of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) • Interests in New Collaborations: • Computational approaches to materials design of order-parameter/lattice coupling (transitions, rotations, etc.) • Measurement of thermodynamic quantities of complex oxide thin films SrTiO3 002 La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 002 PbZr0.2Ti0.8O3 002
