  4. Number of players on each team • We have decided how many we want to keep on the basketball team but NOT how many we will end up with on each team. • Will have an idea of team placement later this week, but it is a fluid situation.

  7. Practices • Unless told otherwise (verbally or via Remind) Practice times are: • 7th – 6:15 gym open, 6:30 start – we will go until 8:15 or so • 8th – approximately 2:45 – 5:00pm • Practices are closed to the public. • Practices are a great barometer to know how players will handle game situations. • It is imperative that players attend practices. • Please communicate with your coach if you are unable to make practice. • 8th Grade – bill.hornberger@gcisd.net • 7th Grade – zach.haseman@gcisd.net • Any missed practice may result in extra conditioning when player returns so they can return to game shape. • Additionally, any missed practice may result in loss of starting position and/or playing time until player gets caught up and acclimated to be ready for the upcoming game.

Scrimmage • This Wednesday November 15th • starting at 5pm @ CTMS • Scrimmage format is at the discretion of the host school (CTMS) • 2 – 15 minute segments per team • Running clock, No foul shots • Same order of play as the season: • 8th Grade Main Gym of CTMS – BAC • 7th Grade Secondary Gym of CTMS – BAC

Games • Players are expected to wear a button down shirt, tie and slacks to school for AWAY games. • Players are expected to wear a spirit shirt/polo to school for HOME games. • Players will ride the bus to the game and may be signed out by their parents only or ride the bus back. • If requesting your son to ride home with another player from an away game, a written note explaining the circumstance and must be given to the coach before the bus leaves CMS. • All players are expected to walk with a teammate if they go anywhere at an away game. (Travel in pairs)

Games • All players are expected to sit behind our bench if applicable or together in the bleachers when not playing unless they have been signed out by their parent at an away game or their game is over when at a home game. • Players are expected to not look to the stands to talk to parents, friends or others during their game unless it is an emergency. • B and C teams will be about getting experience and playing time. If it is a close, competitive game in the 4th, it is the coaches discretion who plays. • A team is more competitive. All kids will play, but minutes will vary. • On game nights there will be 6 minute quarters with 5 minutes between games.

  13. A Team Tournaments • The 7th and 8th grade A Teams will be participating in 2 tournaments this season: • North Richland & HEB Tournament • January 26th and 27th (Friday & Saturday) • End of Season Zone Tournament • February 15th and 16th (Thursday & Friday) • Conflicts????

  14. Picture Day • December 18th • 8th grade – Advisory/7th Period • 7th grade – After school until 4:15 – 4:30 • Grab a form and fill it out but do not send it until Picture Day!!!

  15. Miscellaneous • If any concerns or questions please contact your son’s coach. If needed please contact Coach Haseman if you need more assistance. • Please respect a 24 hour grace period after games if you have a concern that you need to discuss with your son’s coach. • Please do not confront a coach after a game with a complaint! • We can not and will not discuss personnel decisions, playing time and/or coaching philosophy but can discuss ways for your son to improve. • There will possibly be voluntary open gyms over Fall Break & Holiday Break • Dates & Times – TBA (Remind) • 7A - Coach Haseman; 7B & C - Coach Parker • 8A- Coach Hornberger; 8B & C – Coach Mercer
