Newton’s First Law! • Newton’s First law- states an object in motion will stay in motion unless acted opon by an outside force. • Example when our balloon car is moving it will keep moving until acted opon by gravity or inertia.
Newton’s Second law! Newton's second law- states that the acceleration of an object depends on two things, the mass and the net force of an object. Example-when given the same net force the heavier object will go slower, and the lighter object will go faster. But when you have the same mass the car with the greatest net force will go faster.
Newton’s Third Law! Newton’s third law- For every action there is an equal opposite reaction. - Example when we fill our balloons and set it on the ground the air from the balloon rushes through the straw and it creates a force going backwards. It then also creates the opposite reaction of pushing the car forward.
Beginning stages. • Research and design. • Newton's second law- states that the acceleration of an object depends on two things, the mass and net force of the object.
Step one. • Get materials- gathered materials needed for construction of balloon car plus extras.
Step two. • Build car- construct cars to best design, then compare projects to see what worked well and what didn’t.
Step three. • Test and race car- test the car to see if it will go 5 meters then make changes as needed.
Finished product. • Went 5.2 meters • Weighed 20.8 grams • The hardest part of making our car was the wheels. Trying to get something that will easily go 5 meters yet not weigh too much.
