  1. Last extra credit of the quarter…due by next Friday, January 24th….

  2. Why does everybody hate jury duty? If everyone hates it, how does anyone get a fair trial? • Was it as bad as you feared? Were there people who resented being there, and did that have an effect on the way they did their job? Or does something happen once they realize just how important this work is? • Oh, and are there doughnuts?

  3. Listen carefully to the following short story. The images on the screen may help with your comprehension. You MUST take notes. At the conclusion of the story, number from 1-6 on your note page and answer the comprehension questions. The final 4 points will be awarded for your note taking. No notes = no points.

  4. Homework for tonight…read AND ANNOTATE the poem “The Fish” by Elizabeth Bishop. Underline words/phrases that stand out…and then identify why they stand out. Write questions/answers in margins Define any unusual words Make connections/comments to other pieces of literature/your life/the world. Be sure to have a KEY if using different colors/symbols.
