    1. “SEE, THINK, DO” An introduction to KAPLAN’s stimulus/response strategy

    2. What is the “See, Think, Do” Pedagogy “See, Think, Do” is the pedagogy designed by KAPLAN to help students develop immediate responses to various scenarios and question types they will encounter on their entrance exam The “See, Think, Do” stimulus/response is also designed to help students gain “confidence through recognition” as they learn to recognize question types and have an easy, efficient and effective response

    3. What is a conditioned response? Similar to Pavlov’s dogs, humans learn to have conditioned responses to stimuli “See, Think, Do” helps the KAPLAN student learn immediate, “positive” responses to question stimuli and helps avoid panic, stress or indecision The conditioned response is the “think and the do” that a student learns to recreate each time they “see” a question stimulus

    4. How does the “See, Think, Do” strategy work? The “See, Think, Do” strategy is used in tandem with each question types’ specific KAPLAN method Students learn to identify, or “See” a specific question type, then “Think” of that questions corresponding KAPLAN method and finally “Do” the steps outlined in that method

    5. So how about a demonstration? Entrance exams present students with a unique question types The Data Sufficiency question type requires the student test the sufficiency of two statements to answer the question stem KAPLAN has created several different strategies for handling this question type, but they all begin with the same “See, Think, Do” approach

    6. Here’s how to apply the method

    7. “See” The student learns that when they “See”

    8. “Think”

    9. “Do”

    10. “See, Think, Do” If you “See” this question on test day:

    11. The Correct Response

    12. Choose the Best Answer

    13. The KAPLAN Method Each question on Test day has a specific Kaplan method so that students develop an immediate response for everything the test throws their way This immediate response, paired with a greater sense of confidence from KAPLAN’s vigorous preparation programs, leads to greater success and higher scores on test day click here for an introduction to other KAPLAN methods click here to repeat exercise
