  4. A few pointers • Do some research • Outline the speech • “Who are you? Why should we care?” • Gear the speech toward your strengths as a speaker

  5. More… • Tell a short story • End by referring to the purpose of the event • Congratulate the person (not during eulogy) • Honor, don’t embarrass

  9. Your goals • Make the person sound AWESOME, no matter what (may require some spin) • Get audience’s attention • Get off the stage
