  2. IDEA • Many in our area struggle with a drop-off location for recycling paper and/or magazines. Couponing has become a modern trend in our struggling economic area and people are left with leftover papers and nowhere to take them. We would like to offer a community wooden drop box area for any individual to drive up upon and leave their unwanted magazines and newspaper. In return, the art students are always looking for magazines and newpapers for various art projects throughout the year. This would make Belfry High School a recycling hub for the community but always stock up our art classroom with its much needed supplies.

  4. Action Plan • Advanced art students will start with a blueprint design of the shape and décor of the drop off box. Initially, vocational students will build the drop off box with purchased supplies through this grant. Making sure to leave slit areas where the donated materials can breath and keep from ruining/dry rotting. The box will then need to be decorated and labeled, making it known to those that approach it, what it is used for. Wood burning materials and exterior paint will also be purchased. A padlock will need to be added, so that only myself and advanced art students will have access to the contents inside. The art classroom already has its own exterior entrance and the drop off box will be placed there. Once a week, Art II students will be responsible for emptying the drop off box and stocking the donations in our back storage room. We are hoping that this would be a new tradition for not only our campus, but also our community for years to come.
