Before the year 2013, it was only used for India’s biggest domestic cricket tournaments like IPL and Ranji Trophy. This HPCA Cricket Stadium Dharamshala also served as the practice ground of the Indian cricket team. Also, during the spring season of the year 2017, the first ever Test Match was played at the cricket stadium between India and Australia.

That is why the ryegrass is used in this stadium. This grass will easily survive in this condition even when the temperature falls below 10 degrees Celsius. Also, the use of this type of grass in this stadium makes it easier to maintain during the winter season.
