  2. ETHICS &PUBLIC SPEAKING ETHICS The branch of philosophy that deals with issues of right and wrong in human relationships • ETHICS is a primary consideration for all public speakers. When one speaks publicly, one holds great power to alter the lives of those who are listening.   KimAlyse Popkave, M.Ed., CMI, CPPC Instructor

  3. The Hippocratic Oathis an oath traditionally taken by physicians pertaining to the ethical practice of medicine. It is widely believed that the oath was written by Hippocrates, the father of medicine, in the 4th century BC, or by one of his students (Wikipedia) • Doctors hold this same power, and because they do, they must pledge to be ethical in treating the public. They take the Oath of Hippocrates, which in essence comes down to four words: • "First, Do No Harm." KimAlyse Popkave, M.Ed., CMI, CPPC Instructor
