More Contractions Where + is = where’s Could + not = couldn’t Would + not = wouldn’t Should + not = shouldn’t Did + not = didn’t You + are = you’re We + are = we’re They + are = they’re I + have = I’ve
Homographs Homo = same Graph = to write or draw Homographs are words which have the same spelling, but different meanings. They may also have different pronunciations or sounds. Often, the different pronunciations indicate a different part of speech (noun or verb).
Homographs My sister got her driver’s permit yesterday. The teacher will not permit us to write in ink. The police caught the suspect. I suspect she is the one who did it. We drove to the overlook in the mountains. I will overlook your insult.
