    2. What is a Character? Characters are the people in stories, other types of literature, movies and plays. Characters serve as an important tool in helping the author communicate the meaning of the story, even though most stories and poems can be interpreted in more than one way.

    3. What is a Trait? The word trait is used to describe a character’s nature For example, one character might show the trait of being sneaky, while another one might show the trait of blaming someone else. By definition: an identifying characteristic, habit, or tendency

    14. Homework Waters of Babylon Study Session today: 3 – 3:30 Optional: Create a detailed character sketch based on your favorite character from the story we just covered. Write a short story using the same character traits in a new, fictional setting to be shared with the class.
