Mrs. Uebelhardt’s Class Newsletter Week of October 28, 2013 • Announcements: • Thank you to all those parents that drove and came with us to Painted Pony! I really appreciate all that you did to help make the day fun for the whole class! • Students may wear their Halloween costumes to school on Thursday– we will have a school ‘parade’ first thing in the morning. Please make sure costumes are appropriate for school. • NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY! It is a staff development day for teachers! • Our website is constantly being updated! I am uploading newsletters weekly, and all necessary information is available under Mrs. Reves on the Los Primeros teacher pages. • Please be sure to study mountain math every night. Many students are not finishing math tests in the allotted 30 seconds. • Donations wanted: headphone splitters so that we can get more students on the computer at one time! • Homework: • ***We are starting our first book report! Directions went home today and book report will be due no later than Friday, November 8. If you finish early, feel free to bring it in for students to share! Thank you!!*** • Monday: Study for vocabulary, spelling words, and mountain muscle math each night. Read to a family member for 20 minutes. • Tuesday: Math worksheet. Read to a family member for 20 minutes. Study vocabulary, spelling & muscle math. • Wednesday: Math worksheet. Read to a family member for 20 minutes. Study vocabulary, spelling & muscle math. Spelling test tomorrow! Vocab and math test tomorrow too! • Thursday: Happy Halloween! No homework tonight, but make sure to read to a family member! • Tests: • Week 8 for Muscle Math (test Thursday, must complete in 30 seconds) • Week 8 for Spelling (test Thursday) • Also practice recognizing Week 8 vocabulary words. Your child should be able to read each word (test Thursday). This Week’s Star Student: Ethan Jiang • Important Dates: • Oct. 31st: Students may dress up for school in appropriate costumes. We will have a party 12:40-1:45. • November 1: No school • November 7: Picture make-up day • November 11: No School (Veteran’s Day) • November 22: End of 1st Trimester • Nov. 25-29: Thanksgiving break • Jan. 24: Performing Arts presentation “Celtic Nights” @ Pepperdine University ($1.00/person, adult seats limited to our projected number… more info to come.
