About us FRIEND OF THE EARTH CERTIFICATION Friend of the earth is an international certification program that supports sustainable agricultural and Farming Methods through their certification & by consumer awareness in Italy and in all over the world. Our aim is to raise awareness and guide companies towards Protection and conservation of ecosystems and with less use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers to ensure safer Agriculture products and sustainable farming and breeding practices which are carried out in a not only environmental but also economic and social way.

Friend of the Earth was a project founded in 2016 with the initiative of Paolo Bray, founder and director of the World Sustainability Organization, based in Italy and operating worldwide, whose objective is the conservation of ecosystems. It was developed on the basis of the SAFA (Sustainability Assessment of Food and Agriculture systems) guidelines set by the FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation) and its principles are based on the safeguarding and protection of the entire ecosystem within which certified companies carry out their activities. Sustainable Agriculture Certification Friend of the Earth is an international certification Program for sustainable agriculture & farming was a first initiative by Paolo Bray, founder and director of the world sustainability organization & developed according to SAFA (Sustainability Assessment of Food and Agriculture systems) guidelines issued by the FAO. It is based on principles that are basically focus on protection and conservation of ecosystem for promoting biological control, livestock biodiversity and genetic heritage to foster a close link between animals and territory.

Sustainable Farming Certification In the last 60 years, the increase in the world’s population and the consequent growth in demand for animal protein have led to an increase in the number of intensive farming and damage to the Surrounding environment and animals. For these reasons a change of direction is must and, at the same time, more authentic animal breeding that respects animals and the environment.

Friend of the Earth Support a model of sustainable breeding based on respect for nature and animal with the aim of increasing over time the level of symbiosis with the environment and the territory. Recovering and conserving indigenous breeds characterized by marked resilience and suitable for integration with the ecosystem, promoting outdoor and extensive breeding, reducing the use of antibiotics and allopathic pharaceuticals are good examples of corrective actions that certification encourages through its requirements.

  8. 1. The customer forwards the compiled PIF to Friend of the Earth. 2. Friend of the Earth sends the License and Audit Agreement for the royalties and audit to the customer. The Friend of the Earth certification process 3. The customer subscribes to the agreement, chooses the certification body and agrees on the date of the audit. 4. The audit is carried out and, in the case of conformity, the certificate is issued. 5. Friend of the Earth updates its site site adding data and audit details of the certified company. 6. Friend of the Earth sends the logo and begins the marketing and communication activities related to the certified product.
