Approach • EMA Forum's "Challenge for Secure Email" was successful because it had the backing of a significant IT customer • Our challenge must be issued in the name of significant commercial organizations • Andersen and IBM have agreed to consider putting their names on the list of challengers • Need to directly issue challenge to well known tools vendors • Publicize challenge to attract unidentified tools vendors Tools Challenge
Steps • Develop and agree wording of challenge statement • Must limit variation in form of responses • Must not expect vendors to be TOGAF experts • Not a competition or a “Which” evaluation • Get written agreement from “Challengers” • Confirm schedule • Issue to agreed list of challengees • Global publicity to attract the “unknowns” • Process responses • Publicize results (Boston?) • Include in TOGAF 8 Tools Challenge
