Introduction To Different Types of Embossing Embossing is a technique of creating a raised pattern, design or symbol on another surface from paper, plastic, and leather to various types of metal, including stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, aluminum, copper, brass, and gold. The beauty of embossing, which makes it different from other marking and personalized machines like printers, lasers and engravers is that it is done mainly to mark an object (like credit cards, membership cards or a VIN tag) with important information that won’t easily wear and tear over time and lost due to harsh environment. Different types of materials are embossed with different embossing machines, but all these machines work on the same concept. The impression is created by placing the material (need to be embossed) between two dies under a high pressure, so that design on the die transferred to the material.
