  2. ERTMS and TEN-T: Coordinator's Work plan The Work Plan will be submitted by the end of 2015, including: • the Breakthrough program • An implementation report and proposals for actions to achieve an interoperable Core Network by 2030

  3. Key principles of the breakthrough program: • Users first” and not “Designers first” approach • Running everywhere in Europe • Focus on deployment, operation and maintenance • Cost reduction • Quicker and cheaper authorisation processes

  4. Set of actions for achieving an interoperable Core Network by 2030 • by end 2015: revised deployment plan • by end 2015: stable specifications • by end 2016: interoperable and compliant infrastructure • by end 2016: clear regulatory framework

  5. Specifications management: the next release of baseline 3 • 100 Change Requests submitted to ERA have been analysed: • 50% error corrections+50% enhancements • Priority: errors + some enhancements • ERA draft proposal: 50 change requests to be solved within one year • To be discussed in the ERTMS Working Group and RISC at the beginning of November

  7. CEF Program Support Action 1: Study on innovative financing • Call launched in June, contract to be signed soon • Aims to develop market based solutions for innovative financing of ERTMS deployment: • on the ground: public-private partnership (PPPs) • on-board: analysis of existing national schemes • on-board and on the ground: a new TEN-T corridor-specific business model.

  8. CEF Program Support Action 2: Technical assistance for ERTMS deployment along the core corridors • Call launched in August, contract to be signed before the end of 2014 • Three domains of technical assistance: • deployment programme management, coordination, cooperation, information • technical assistance and follow-up of EU funded projects • economic assistance. • More information: http://ec.europa.eu/transport/facts-fundings/tenders/doc/specifications/2014/s161-288265-specifications.pdf
