The Project • The project is to pretend to be a K-12 teacher and make a game for your students using Scratch. • The game must be over computer science, science, or math. • The project must be original, creative, and rich of content.
What BasicMath is • BasicMath is the scratch project that was designed by our group leader, Jose Lopez. • BasicMath is a Scratch game where you answer basic math problems so that the cat can get pass the evil witch casting spells on him. • With every question that you get right the cat gets closer to the witch but if you get a question wrong though, the cat is transformed into another animal.
How Scratch Works • In Scratch there are different tabs with different bubbles in them. These bubbles are the programming for the game. Simply by dragging the bubble to the correct location you are making a Scratch game. • Inside of these bubbles are little white spots generally with numbers or text inside of them. These will change how the bubbles work.
The Purpose of the Game • The game was made in the mind for the elementary school students. • In the game the player will be asked to solve problems through addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
About The Game • The game is designed to certain requirements and created using a program called Scratch. • Scratch is a simple program for making games and was made to be user friendly. • The game was designed by Jose Lopez. • In the game the player is helping a cat fend off an evil witches magic spells so he can get by her. • The game has a Halloween theme.
Animal Transformations • In the basicmath game, if you get a question wrong the cat is transformed into a dog, duck, or mouse. • The cats transformations are dependent on what questions you get wrong. • The cat is transformed into a dog when you get a addition question wrong. • The cat is transformed into a duck when you get a subtraction question wrong. • The cat is transformed into a mouse when you get a multiplication question wrong.
The Feel of the Game • As that the game has a witch in it the game was given a Halloween feel to it. As to give the game a Halloween feel, the background is of a dark forest and the music was given an upbeat, serious tone to it as to make it more life and death.
Conclusion • With the Halloween theme all designed in Scratch and the witch trying to cast spells beware because you just may be transformed. • Enjoy the game!
