TUTITION ANF FEES • At Medgar Evers College, tuition costs vary, depending on full-time (carrying 12 or more credits per semester) or part-time (carrying fewer than 12 credits per semester) status as well as in-state or out-of-state residency. A New York State resident must file a certificate of residence with the college, in order to qualify for the lower New York State tuition rate.   •    New York State Resident •     Out-of-State Resident Full-Time Students $ 2,715 per semester $ 485 per credit   Part-Time Students  $ 230 per credit $ 485 per credit   Non-Degree Students  $ 340 per credit  $ 720 per credit

  3. How to Apply to Medgar Evers College • In order to enhance your opportunity for admission, it is advisable that you list Medgar Evers College as your first choice on your online application. This will ensure that you are properly placed at Medgar Evers College. Furthermore all applications must be accompanied by a correlated application fee: Freshman - $65.00, Transfer $70.00. Deadlines for applying are as follows: March 15th for the Fall and October 1st for the Spring.

  4. MISSION STATEMENT • The Office of Admissions at Medgar Evers College is dedicated to providing service to prospective, new, and continuing students pursuing an undergraduate education. Our mission, consistent with that of the College and the University, is two-fold: 1) to promote our campus and its programs to prospective students and their representatives, as well as the public at large; 2) to admit and enroll students that reflect the values and commitment of the campus, faculty and administration, and ensuring those students a smooth transition to the start of their academic career at MEC; and

Department of Nursing--Bachelor of Science (BSN) • The Goals of the BSN Program are to provide: • Baccalaureate completion education, designed specifically for registered nurses from Associate Degree and Diploma nursing programs, as generalists with emphasis on community health nursing. • Broad-based knowledge and skills in nursing leadership and management. • A foundation for graduate studies in advance nursing practice, education and research.

  6. ADMISSION REQUIRMENTS • For admission into the Baccalaureate Completion Program, a candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with current New York Sate license and meet all other college admission requirements.  On admission, all RN’s are granted sixty (60) credits toward the BSN degree. Academic StandardsStudents in the program are expected to pass required nursing courses with a grade of “C” or better.  To graduate, a student must achieve a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.5.
