GRADING • Participation 10% - Class work • Homework 15% - Assigned every time. Must show work. - ½ credit if late one block • Quizzes 20% - about 2 per chapter, retake opportunities • Tests 40% - about 6 per semester, no retakes • Group Assessments 15% - includes h.w. discussion, group quizzes, and group tests
How to be successful. • Complete homework thoughtfully. • Come prepared with supplies. • Review notes and book regularly. • Understand the concepts. Don’t just memorize. • Use class time effectively. • Use online textbook resources. • Homework help link • Take advantage of quiz retakes and Block 7 • Use other resources if the textbook and online textbook are not helping.

Making up work when absent. • I post all my powerpoints and handouts on Sharepoint. • I post them on the assignments calendar along with important dates and the homework assignment that is due or being checked.
Supplies • Graph paper, paper, pencils, rulers, protractors, compass, scientific or graphing calculators (Ti-83, Ti-83 plus or Ti-84)
