  1. Factors that Effect Things Abiotic and Biotic

  2. Abiotic Factors • What does A in front of a word mean? • What does Bio- mean? • What does –ic mean? Not, With Out Life, Living Biotic Relating too.

  3. Abiotic Factors • Abiotic components are the nonlivingcomponents of the biosphere. • Chemical and geological factors, such as rocks and minerals, and physical factors, such as temperature and weather, are referred to as abiotic components.

  4. Biotic Factors • A factor created by a living thing or any living component within an environment in which the action of the organism affects the life of another organism, for example a predator consuming its prey. Some Biotic Factors parasitism disease predation

  5. What are some Abiotic factors shown? What are Some Biotic factors Shown?

  6. Abiotic Biotic Ecosystem 1. Living 3. Disease 5. Bacteria 7. Rain 9. Temperature 2. Non-Living 6. pH 10. Predator 4. Light 8. Soil

  22. A certain plant requires moisture, oxygen, carbon dioxide, light, and minerals in order to survive. This statement shows that a living organism depends on 1.  biotic factors  2.  abiotic factors  3.  symbiotic relationships  4.  carnivore-herbivore relationships

  23. Which is a biotic factor operating within an ecosystem? 1.  the type of climate in a given region  2.  the carnivores that consume other animals  3.  the amount of helium gas in the air  4.  the rate of flow of water in a river
