To: Our supportive partners – Essex Town businesses / Office Manager Re: Essex Town Little League - 2014 Support & DonationsDear Ma’am or Sir, On behalf of the ETLL board members and all the parents and players, I am writing to inquire about a possible donation in support of the Essex Town Little League Baseball & Softball programs. As a non-profit local organization, our goal is to provide kids from introductory T-ball through the Major league baseball/softball level an opportunity to get out and enjoy America’s favorite past time sport! Our grassroots effort is volunteer based, and functions on the generous support and donations from local businesses such as you. In 2013, Essex Town Baseball hosted on our fields all three rounds of all-star play at the 11-12 year old baseball major league level. This included District pool play, the District Championship play, and the VT State Championships! With all three tournaments, the boys had along season that extended through summer. The girls 11-12 year olds made it to the state championship final game, played with a valiant effort, but it was not their year. The 9-10 year old girls earned valuable experience in their play for State championship, which will be put to use this year. In 2014 we look forward to another great year, continuing a tradition of fun and competitive play for returning players, as well as introducing young new players to Little League baseball and softball at the beginning levels. We need your help! Maintaining our fields and providing safe and adequate performing equipment is a priority, and as previously mentioned only happens through the support and donations from local businesses and residents such as you. This year, we are looking to vastly improve the field conditions, purchase nets and screens to update the batting cage to accommodate both baseball and softball, to purchase new fences for the fields, and to install a score board on Softball field C. Local Little League Sponsorship Agreement • This agreement between the Essex Town Little League (hereinafter, “Local Little League”) and ______________________________________ (hereinafter, “Sponsor”) is for the 2014 season. • Sponsorship of a team in the Local Little League must be, for the Sponsor, out of a sense of duty to help the community. While Sponsorship does afford some benefits (detailed below), the higher purpose is to help the Local Little League impart the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play to the children of the community, so that they may someday use these values in becoming good citizens. • Sponsorship of a team in the Local Little League does not permit the Sponsor to have any rights or responsibilities in the operation of the Local Little League or any team in the Local Little League, nor does the Sponsor have any rights or responsibilities in the selection of managers, coaches, or players for any team in the Local Little League. Nothing herein shall make us partners or joint ventures. The Sponsor and the Local Little League are independent contractors with respect to one another, and neither shall have any authority to represent or bind the other in any manner or to any extent whatsoever, except as specified herein. • The Sponsor shall have the right to use the following term in advertisements, posters, brochures, newsletters, etc.: “Sponsor of a team in the (Local Little League).” Sponsorship does NOT give the sponsor the right to use the word, “official,” in connection with its Sponsorship. Any reference to the Sponsorship under this agreement must make it clear that the Sponsorship is with a team or teams in the Local Little League only, and NOT for Little League Baseball and Softball. Use of the “keystone logo” or any other logo of Little League Baseball and Softball is prohibited, unless permission is expressly granted in writing by Little League International.
