Non Violent Prevention • The Secure-Waters and Secure-Ship, Ship Protection Systems are designed to protect the vessel against piracy attacks, illegal entrances and stowaways. • Main Goals: • Prevent Pirates from boarding the vessel • Give the crew time to find a protective place, • Get time for help from Navy ships, • Cause the pirates to give up and seek an easier target
Secure-Ship – 9000 volts • Secure-Ship - A Security system that prevents attack. • A system that is adapted for use at sea • A modular system that can be installed by the crew. • A system that is installed on land at hundreds of locations. • Can NOT be used on Tankers
Secure-Waters • Secure-Waters – Cold water, High Pressure • Secure-Waters – Hot water, Low pressure • Can be used on any ship • No Danger at all to crew • No hindrance to ship’s operation
Secure-Waters, ‘Water Knife’Cold water – High Pressure • Principle: • Install a special pipe around the ship with high pressure nozzle at close intervals • Pump water through the pipes at high pressure • Create a painful deterrent to prevent ship entry • Usage: • Quick and easy deployment at major maritime trade points • Singapore, Rotterdam, Dubai, Suez • Installation by crew and our supervisor • Medium cost
Secure-WatersHot water – Low Pressure • Principle: • Install a special pipe around the ship with low pressure nozzle at intervals • Heat up the water, using the engine’s heat source to 80-90 deg C • Pump water through the pipes at low pressure • Create a hot water deterrent to prevent ship entry • Usage: • Sophisticated system with Computer controls (longer lead times) • Installation by crew and our teams • Medium entry cost • Use for high class shipping companies
The System in more detail • The Main Units: • Heat Exchanger to heat up water • Water pump to create required water flow • Pipes to disperse water along ships hull • Nozzles to create required spray • Control and monitoring unit • Optional chemical disperser
The System in more detail • Heat Exchanger: • Use the heat generated from the Main Engine ‘Exhaust Economizer’ to heat up the water. • The steam heaters are already installed on the ships. • Use this steam to heat up the seawater via a high capacity heat exchanger • Temp IN – 170 deg C (steam) • Water out – 80 deg C (salt water)
The System in more detail • Water Pump: • The water pump needs to produce a large water flow • Example: LOA 300m = 4000 ltr /min • Pressure is low – approx 1 Bar • Water is Sea Water (except for cleaning cycle)
The System in more detail • Pipes: • There are 2 systems of pipes: • Bring water to deck and connect to spraying pipes • High density rubber with high insulation gradient • Or Fixed Steel pipes • Bring water to Spray Nozzles • Special, vari-diameter pipes • Vari-diameter pipes sections are max 150m each • Pipes are connected to railing with special clamps • Vari-diameter pipes can be installed permanently.
The System in more detail • Nozzles: • The Nozzles are made from Ceramics • Pre-installed on vari-diameter pipes at pre-defined intervals • Create dense water curtain with overlap coverage • Nozzles need to be clean cycled every several hrs to prevent salt crystallization
The System in more detail • Computer Control System: • Control from Bridge , and / or Engine room • Activating system (On / Off) • Monitoring system • Cleaning cycle • Optional Active Chemical activation • Monitoring water flow • Monitoring steam input and water temp and flow output • Monitoring Salt Crystallization • Recommendations on cleaning cycle time
The System in more detail • Optional Chemical Agent: • When under attack – can add chemical agent to water curtain • Same Chemicals as used by riot police • Chemicals are not harmful • Irritate eyes and breathing channels • Limited time usage – approx 2 hrs
To Summarize • Not every one has luxury to have armed guards • Costs for guards or using alternative routes are very high • Secure-Water deters attacks, enabling ship to escape • Possible reduction in insurance premiums • Use existing energy and heat • Can be permanently installed, and activated in short notice • 1 year of full warranty (any parts will be replaced).
