A factor is a whole number that evenly divides into another number. 6÷2 =3 7÷2 =3 R 1 Product Factors
Commutative Property: A x B= B x A 2x3 =6 3x2 =6
When listing factor pairs, don’t forget to list the number as a factor of itself. 6=1x6

GAME: “Factors For It” • Use playing cards with the Kings, Queens, and Jacks removed. Two players play at a time. Scratch paper or white boards and pens are needed. Aces =1 • Directions: • Place the cards in a single stack in the center. • Flip two cards over. • The players multiply the two factors (cards) together to get the product of the two cards. (2 & a 5= 2x5=10) • Then the players use their paper or white boards to list ALL of the factor pairs that make up that product. • Winner must have all the factors written down. Winner keeps both cards, a ‘draw’ leaves the cards, the winner of the next turn gets these cards as well.
