D – Instead of using to separate the words, the author uses phrases like eddieandball, balloonMan, and bettyanddisbel to make the rhythm go smoother. The diction of the poem is easy to understand. • I – “Running from marbles and piracies and it’s spring”, “come dancing from hop-scothch and jump rope”, “goat-footed balloon man” • D – The author is describing a Spring scenario and describes it’s beauty and the vivaciousness of the season. • L – The language used is informal and casual and uses some colloquialisms to describe the casualness of Spring. The language is plaint and not very figurative. • S – The structure of the poem is in a fun strange structure. “The balloonMan whistles far and wee” is on the very bottom of the poem sort of holding the rest of the poem up. I think this is because he is the focal point of the authors description of spring.
