What is Science? • Science is everywhere around you all the time. Breathing= Science, Weather=Science, Animals=Science, Food=Science, Machines=Science, just to name a few things. PAIR SHARE other examples. • The Goal of Science is to investigate and understand the world around us in an organized way. • It is to: • Explain events/phenomena • Use explanations to make predictions • Make observations to create data/information • Record information/data • Make logical interpretations based on data • Communicate these findings • Life Science is the study of living organisms (things). • Bio (life) + -logy (study of) = biology (Greek roots)
