  4. WORK FORCE • Explore job options. Find out what types of entry level jobs are available to high school graduates. • Network. Ask friends, family, and neighbors if they have any connections. The majority of jobs are not advertised. • Build a strong resume that includes education, part-time and summer jobs, clubs, volunteer service and awards.

  5. WORKFORCE – cont. • Myths • If you don't go to college immediately after high school you'll never go. • Without a college education you'll never earn enough money to live a comfortable life.

  6. WORKFORCE – cont. Things to do: • Create/update Resume in September • Attend job fairs • Connect with possible employers

  7. MILITARY SERVICE • Great way to learn more about yourself. Serve your country. • Explore a career in the service, and/or earn money toward a future college education. • Earn valuable work experience that you can apply to civilian jobs once discharged.

  8. TECHNICAL TRAINING/SCHOOL • Admissions Process Vary • Visit campus • Schools in dedicated fields • Health Care • Culinary Arts • Automotive Technology • Visual /Performing Arts • Welding

  9. COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY • Campus Visits: • Group - Large open house /Senior Days • Individual - Make arrangements to attend an information session, take a campus tour, schedule an interview, visit classes and meet with faculty • Testing / Placement • ACT/SAT/Placement test

  10. COLLEGE / TECHNICAL SCHOOL Things to do: • Schedule visits in fall if possible • Apply to top 2-3 choices in September/October • Complete the FAFSA in October. • Review your financial aid award letter in March/April • Wrap up decision by May 1
