Submission of the Prevention Best Practice Guidelines (TCP Major Contribution, July 2007) to appropriate APA committees with goal of adoption by APA Infusion of prevention into CCPTP and APA Accreditation Standards Collaboration with other sections of Division 17 and other APA Divisions for the creation of an interdivisional task force on prevention Infusion of prevention theory and practice into the training of Counseling Psychologists Expansion of opportunities for publication of prevention work Expansion of the Division 17 Prevention Section Website Collaborate with policy makers to advance the Prevention Section agenda at institutional and governmental levels (e.g. schools) Expand consultation training opportunities in Counseling Psychology Training Programs Major Issues Discussed

Adoption of the Best Practice Prevention Guidelines as APA policy Infusion of prevention training into CCPTP competencies for doctoral training Organize a training session on prevention for CCPTP mid-year meeting Prevention represented as an expectation of competency in APA accreditation standards Prevention practice to be counted as clinical training hours for pre-doctoral internships and licensure Goals/Outcomes for Future

Creation of an active interdisciplinary APA task force on prevention Address prevention practice within the aging population Promote prevention theory, practice, and research internationally Creation of an electronic resource bank of tools for prevention As an expectation of training require a competency in systems theory and change to promote social change Goals/Outcomes for Future

APA Boston Convention Hospitality Suite session to help form the APA interdisciplinary task force on prevention Contact Division 17 APA Council of Representatives and other Division 17 members who are active in APA governance to move the Best Practices in Prevention agenda forward Next Steps & Opportunities for Involvement

  7. Continue electronic dialogue among subgroups of our larger workgroup Update and infuse information into the Prevention Section webpage Encourage active involvement of new members of the Prevention Section Connect with APA Directorate Next Steps & Opportunities for Involvement
