  2. Alignment View

  3. Awareness at Kickoff • Immediate “injection” at initiative kickoff • Go over the cross-initiative view and highlight tools to support the initiative • Ongoing support through S&I Simplification, CIM and Standards Inventory as we move from requirements – data- standards harmonization – working code- pilots

  4. Expanded Charter The cross-initiative view would cover the following: • Actors • Systems • Metrics • Data Element Names and Definitions • Data Element Sets • Standards Inventory

  5. S&I Simplification Objectives • A cross-initiative workgroup open to all initiative members, focused on creating a high-level view of reusable constructs for potential use by each S&I initiative and to work to make recommendations to all WGs and S&I Framework teams. • To identify a core set of constructs broadly applicable to each initiative and to ensure reuse for better overall understanding of outputs produced by the S&I Framework

  6. Actors • Common set of actors, roles, and proposed actions for each actor that can be reused across all initiatives • GOAL: Use of common actors and roles for each actor in use case, diagramming, and pilots for better understanding

  7. Systems • Common set of system names and definitions that can be reused across all initiatives • Goal: Use of common systems in use case, diagramming, and pilots for better understanding

  8. Metrics • Give each initiative a base set of metrics to work off of that can be extended as needed • Start with the TOC and LRI success metrics • Base metrics that apply to all • Initiative specific metrics • Goal: Better visibility to provide pilots with specific metrics they

  9. Data Element Names and Definitions • An index of all the data elements defined to date in the S&I Framework initiatives • Goal: Ensure that all data elements get documented within the CIM (as a data dictionary). Ensure reuse and common data definitions to improve understanding

  10. Data Element Sets (DES) • Create reusable data element sets that serve as a cross walk between the use case and the CIM • Goal: Needs to be defined

  11. Data Element Names • An index of all the data elements defined to date in the S&I Framework initiatives • GOAL: Common use of data elements and definitions across all the initiatives • Definitions can be extended but a set of “naming rules” should be used • Tied directly to the CIM – focus on clinical/business name

  12. Important Assumptions • Informative, not prescriptive • S&I Simplification Workgroup does not “order” or “control”, they advise and inform • Initiative may reuse what they like • Requires S&I Simplification to “do the work” • Should participate in all S&I Framework activities

  13. S&I Framework – S&I Simplification, CIM, DES Scope of WorkRequirement and Data Drill Down S&I Framework Use Case Simplification
