The cold water line servicing the lavatories will require the same components as the hot water line. • The cold water line servicing the water closets and urinals will require: • Approximately 20 feet of 1-inch pipe 7 feet of ¾-inch pipe. • Three ½-inch risers are needed for the water closets (allow 18 inches each) • Two ½-inch risers are needed for the urinals (allow 30 inches) for a total of 9.5 feet of ½- inch pipe.
Beginning in the lower left corner, the following fittings will be needed: • One 1” x ¾” x 1” tee • One 1” 90-degree elbow • Two 1” x 1” x ½” tees • One 1” x ¾” x ½” tee • Two ¾” x ¾” x ½” tees • One ¾” x ½” 90-degree elbow (near the air chamber) • One ½” x 12” air chamber • Five ½” x ½” 90-degree elbows (one per riser) • Five ½” x 6” stub out fittings (one at each fixture).
Prob#13-2 • Determine the DWV components needed to complete the DWV system for the bathroom shown in figures 13-8 and 13-9. The horizontal waste piping is 2 feet below the finished floor, the horizontal vent piping is 9 feet above the finished floor, and the vent terminates 14 feet above the finished floor.
The DWV piping will be taken off in three steps: the main(horizontal) waste, the vertical waste servicing the fixtures, and the vent. • Beginning with the cleanout near the lavatories, the lengths of the pipe and fittings needed for the main waste line servicing the lavatories are as follows: • 4 feet of 2-inch pipe run vertically, • 5 feet of 2-inch pipe run horizontally, • 15 feet of 3-inch pipe, one 2” cleanout plug, • one 2” cleanout adapter, • two 2” 90-degree elbows, • one 2” sanitary tee, • one 3” x 2” x 2” sanitary tee, • two 3” x 3” x 2” sanitary tees, • one 3” 45-degree sanitary elbow, • one 3” x 4” busing and • one 4” sanitary wye.
Beginning with the cleanout near the urinals, the lengths of pipe and fittings needed for the main waste line servicing the water closets and urinals are as follows: • 4 feet of 2-inch pipe run vertically • 5 feet of 2-inch pipe run horizontally • 6 feet of 3-inch pipe • 6 feet of 2-inch pipe (for the floor drain) • 12 feet of 4-inch pipe • one 2” cleanout plug • one 2” cleanout adapter • two 2” 90-degree elbows • one 2” sanitary tee • one 3” x 2” x 2” sanitary tee • one 3” sanitary tee • one 3” x 3” x 2” sanitary tee • one 4” x 3” x 3” sanitary tee • one 4” x 4” x 3” sanitary tee • one 3” 45-degree sanitary elbow • A floor drain is also needed.
Each of the lavatory risers will require: • 4 feet of 2-inch pipe • one 2” sanitary tee • one 6 inch long piece of 2-inch pipe • one male adapter • The riser for each water closet requires: • 1 foot of 3-inch pipe • one 3” x 2” x 3” sanitary tee • two feet of 3-inch pipe • 3” 90-degree elbow servicing the water closet • one 3” toilet flange. • The riser for each urinal will require: • * 5 feet of 2-inch pipe • * one 2” sanitary tee • * six inches of 2-inch pipe.
For the vertical venting pipe: • Four 7-foot-long 2-inch pipes (lavatories) • Two 8-foot-long 2-inch pipe (urinals) • Four 10-foot-long 2-inch pipes (water closets and floor drain) will be needed. • For the vertical vent pipe: • Thirty-four feet of 2-inch pipe • Six feet of 3” pipe ill be needed for the vertical vent stack through the roof. • The following fittings are needed for the vent pipe: • Four 2: 90-degree elbows • Eight 2” tees • One 3” tee • Two 3” x 2” bushings. • Additionally: • Nine 2” test caps • Four 3” test caps (water closets and roof vent) • One 3” thermoplastic roof flashing • Two decorative cleanout covers will be needed.
