EXPECTATIONS ALL of you have my trust and I hope you will be very mature, careful, and responsible with these dissections. BUT there is a lot that you will be expected to do so that you are prepared for them. CAUTIOUS & CAREFUL in the lab DISSECTIONS are not just cutting in to things and poking around for a few minutes then throwing into the trash Respect the Opportunity & Respect the Animal!
REQUIREMENTSYou will NOT dissect if you are not preparedand dressed for the lab I will not budge on these: IF you haven’t read through required materials by Tuesday AND watch videos & look through (gross) pictures by Tuesday AND dressed for the lab THEN your group will get to dissect: BUT You will miss out entirely. BUT You will not even be allowed into the lab.
Clothing Requirements: Non-negotiable • Long pants or leggings • Closed-toe shoes • Hair pulled back, need a bun if your hair touches the desk when leaned over Recommend: short sleeves or sleeves that can be pushed back
Everyone • Questions & Vocabulary • What are you worried about? Afraid of? Grossed out by? As a group: • What tools will you use for different operations? • What external features and organs will you identify? • What sorts of cuts will you make? Where on the body? Which direction? • What are the different layers you will come across? • What do you need to be careful NOT to cut through/damage?
