2- Person Walking Assist • Arms of athlete draped over shoulders of assistants • Grasp wrist • Encircle arms around athlete’s back • Athlete places weight on assistants
1-Person Walking Assist • Stand on injured side • Arm of athlete draped over should of assistant • Grasp wrist • Encircle arm around athlete’s back • Athlete places weight on assistant
2-Person Seat Carry • Arms of athlete draped over shoulders of assistants • Assistant grasps each other’s forearms • One across athlete’s mid-back • One under athlete’s knees • Athlete places weight on assistants • Assistants lift athlete
Stretcher Carry • *BEST & SAFEST* • With all segments supported athlete is lifted and place gently on stretcher • Careful examination is required • May be necessary is athlete can’t be transported comfortably in seated position
Pool Extraction • When athlete does not have a head or neck injury • Instruct athlete to roll on back • Cross athletes arms across their chest • Assistant places their arms underneath the arms of the athlete • Pull athlete to side of pool • If athlete is not breathing • Remove athlete from pool quickly and perform CPR • Head and neck injuries • Special training for in water spine boarding
