Arkas Container Transport S.A. was established in July 1996 with the name of EMES Shipping and Transport S.A. in order to conduct the first container line shipping in our country under the Turkish flag. As of January 1st 2010, the name of EMES Shipping and Transport S.A. changed to Arkas Container Transport S.A. and continuing to provide service under the brand name “Arkas Line”. Building on the strength of the 66 years of experience Arkas Holding has in international transportation, Arkas Line offers regular container shipping between ports in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean ports extended to Canary islands and Morocco. with a fleet of 28 container vessels, most of which have the Turkish flag and belong to Arkas. Arkas Container Transport S.A. (Arkas Line) began as a feeder service established to transfer goods to large tonnage vessels that do not call at Turkish ports and transport the cargo unloaded from these vessels. Today it provides regular line service with a container fleet of approximately 51,000 TEU including special equipment such as open top, high cube, flatrack, palletwide, and reefers to meet the import and export needs of an expanding and developing market. The feedering service continues to be conducted by EMES Feedering S.A.M. Arkas Container Transport S.A.
