  3. Pedagogical Foundations • Learning is enhanced when the learner actively participates • Diverse learners produce diverse ideas and possess diverse learning styles • Teaming diverse students enriches the learning environment providing avenues for support and multiple learning styles

Fall 1998, Sinclair asked to participate in a project called SCANS Inspired by the 1987 Hudson Institute Work and Workers for the Twenty-First Century 1991 the Department of Labor’s Secretary’s Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (SCANS) identified competencies needed by employers in high-performing workplaces Opportunity to Change

  6. Dr. Arnold Packer (author Workforce 2000) of Johns Hopkins University, led the teams that developed interactive CD-ROM based simulations to help students improve necessary skills One such module introduces the concepts of information systems design and use Pedagogy to Enhance Skills
