Process Of Manufacturing TMT Bars Converting Iron Ore To Molten Iron Sourcing & processing raw material: Raw materials like iron ore, coal, limestone, and dolomite, are sourced from reputable locations and blended in the required proportions. Thermo mechanical treatment: Subject the hot-rolled steel bars to quenching, which is the first step in the thermo mechanical treatment. Quenching involves quickly cooling the hot-rolled steel bars with a water spray. Tempering: The core of the TMT bar continues to supply heat to the bars as it is still hotter than the outer surface. The heat transfers from the core to the outer surface, tempering the outer structure.  Atmospheric cooling: The bars are then put on special cooling beds, where the core gets transformed into a ductile ferrite-pearlite structure.
