What is the EOP? • Officials of YC, in conjunction with local, county and state emergency management and public safety agencies have developed an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) that will enhance the emergency response capability for large scale emergencies or disasters on YC Campuses. It can also be used for emergencies off college property.
Risk Analyisis • Fire • Aircraft Incident • Flooding • Weather Related Emergencies • Earthquake • Health and Medical • Civil Unrest • Hazardous Materials • Homeland Security Issues • Active Threat/Active Shooter • Bomb/Weapon of Mass Destruction • Infrastructure/Heating/ Cooling Failure
Emergency Operations Center • Purpose: • Provide direction, control and coordination of campus forces to include with any and all outside agencies/entities as is appropriate. • Provide emergency information and directions to the occupants of the campus during an emergency. • Policy Group • Officials with certain legal and policy-making responsibilities including the president or designee. • The policy group will be housed separately from the EOC and will provide policy direction only to the EOC Manager.

Responsibilities Employees & Students • Evacuation: There is a threat to life safety in a building or area that requires immediate evacuation. Relocate all occupants to a safe location until the threat is removed. • Shelter in Place: Keep everyone safe while remaining indoors. Severe weather, hazardous materials spills, or other dangerous airborne situations. • Lock Down: Potentially dangerous situation taking place on or around campus that requires people to remain in a secured area. The goal of a lockdown is to separate everyone from the threat. • Familiarize:Fire extinguisher locations, Pull Stations, Exits.
Building Captains • Designated Individuals (2 per floor) Captain and Alternate. • Trained Personnel • Identified (vests) • Megaphones ??? • Follow their directions.
