Mass & Inertia • Inertia is a measure of how resistant an object is to changes in its motion • Mass is the amount of matter an object contains. It is also the measurement of inertia. • If an object has more mass… • It has more inertia… • Which means it is more resistant to changes in motion • IF nothing ever acts on an object, its motion will never change. • Forces are the cause of changes in motion. Without forces, inertia keeps motion constant.
