:: mid-term assignment due :: 03.13.06 • Stock Footage Short Film with DVD interface • Purpose/Objective: • To work with found elements to construct an original piece of art. • To go through the full creative design process for cinematic time-based projects. • To consider interface design issues for different media. • To integrate the images, motion graphic design, digital video, sound editing, and multimedia authoring software in the creation of a unified multimedia work of art. • To effectively defend course work conceptually. • Assignment: Use the stock video library footage (OPTIONAL: or use your own footage*) to create a short film with a DVD interface. Conceptually there are no guidelines. The final product can be experimental in nature or thematically abstract (ie. video art, Norman McLaren, etc). or it can be a more traditional narrative (ie. documentary, drama, comedy, etc.) • Format: There are two major parts to the assignment: • DVD with custom DVD Interface Menu • Four downloading web versions of the film to be handed in on a data CD. • Quicktime (.mov) • Windows Media Player (.wmv) • Real Player (.rm) • Flash (.swf)
