Ohio wildlife • Ohio Wildlife Center is a leader in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation education. We are dedicated to fostering awareness and appreciation of Ohio's native wildlife through rehabilitation, education and wildlife health studies. Every year, concerned citizens from across Ohio bring nearly 5,000 injured, orphaned and ill animals to our wildlife hospital in northwest Columbus. We also educate thousands of children and adults through our on and off-site education programs.

Ohio flower • Ohio adopted its official state flower, the red carnation, in 1904. The state legislature chose the red carnation to honor President William McKinley, an Ohioan, who was assassinated in 1901. McKinley liked to wear red carnations stuck in his buttonhole on the lapel of his jacket.
