  1. Summer 2011 DSC Writing Workshops Overview of the Program The Summer 2011 Writing Workshops will be in session from May to July 2011. There are weekend workshops and Thursday Night Writes. All Doctoral Students are welcome to attend, as we support students in all phases of the program. The DSC Writing Workshops provide students the opportunity to commit to writing and have an advisor available to assist with questions regarding academic writing or the dissertation process. There is no cost for attending. Students are encouraged to develop individual writing goals and plans. You can attend as an individual or join a writing group which meets regularly. You can create your own group or join an existing group. Groups should try to meet weekly to achieve goals toward degree completion. Students are also encouraged to meet with their writing advisor monthly for discussion and individual updates and to schedule any review dates for drafts. Summer 2011 Weekend Workshop Schedule Workshop: Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22, 2011, 9 – 5, WPH Rm. B49  Workshop: Saturday and Sunday, June 11 and 12, 2011, 9 – 5, WPH Rm. B49 Sunday Presentation: 1 pm Preparing for your Defense Workshop: Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17, 2011, 9 – 5, WPH Rm. B49 Saturday Finale 5-7 pm Location McKays. Thursday Night Write -- 5 to 9 2 June – 5 to 9 pm Thursday Night Write Location WPH B49 16 June – 5 to 9 pm Thursday Night Write Location WPH B49 30 June – 5 to 9 pm Thursday Night Write Location WPH B49 7 July – 5 to 9 pm Thursday Night Write Location WPH B49 28 July – 5 to 9 pm Thursday Night Write Location WPH B49 Mark your calendars.
