Currents • Ocean currents are “streams” of water within the larger water body of the ocean. They are caused by wind patterns (Coriolis Effect) and changes in density (salinity and temperature). There were two other things mentioned on your ocean voyage - what were they? • Surface and Deep Ocean Currents • N. Hemisphere = clockwise • S. Hemisphere = counterclockwise
