Memorial of the Blowing of Trumpets • Lev 23:24 • Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
What is this day in Memorial of? • Exodus 19:15-19 • And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives. • (16) And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. • (17)And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. • (18)And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. • (19) And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
What could this day be a “shadow” of? • This is just our opinion after reading the scriptures and “seeing” how the spring appointed days and feasts matched the 1st coming of the Messiah. • May be “the warning” that the Messiah is about to come
Memorial of the Blowing of Trumpets • Matthew 24:30-31 • And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.[31] And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Day of Atonement • Lev 23:27-28 • Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. • And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. • Lev 25:9 • Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
What is the Jubile? • Lev 25:9-13 • [9] Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. • [10] And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. • [11] A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed. • [12] For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field. • [13] In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.
Day of Atonement - Shadow • Lev 23: • Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. • [28] And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. • [29] For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. • [30] And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. • [31] Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. • [32] It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
Shadow of Messiah • Lev 23:29 • For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. • Our opinion is that if you have not repented before the Lord comes – it will be too late. • May be the day of the 2nd coming of the Messiah - again – just our opinion
Feast of Tabernacles • Lev 23:34-36 • Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD. • (35) On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. • (36) Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
Feast of Tabernacles • Lev:23:39-40 • Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. • (40) And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.
