Johnson developed the first touch screen • 1982: Nimish Mehta from the University of Toronto created the first multi-touch device • 1984: Bob Boie of Bell Labs created the first multi-touch screen • 1993: IBM and the telephone company BellSouth released the first cell phone “SImon” • 2007: Apple successfully released the first touch screen smartphonecalled the iPhone then in 2012 the iPad • 2011: Samsung released the SUR40
