  10. Since When & According to Whom? • Faculty members keep “personal” libraries in their offices. • Library used to buy them. • Now, faculty has to buy out of their own discretionary budgets.

  12. Law Library Faculty Degrees • Masters: 9 • Multiple Masters: 1 • Doctor of Education: 1 • Doctor of Philosophy: 1 • Juris Doctor: 6

Management & Personnel Issues • Within the next two years, two librarians are retiring • Another is planning to leave to take another position • Only one librarian does not have a JD • Have 7 years to earn tenure • 12 month schedule • Sabbaticals are granted, just not the last year before retirement.

  14. Collection Management • Librarians are liaisons to different areas of law. • UF vs. NYU for #1 LLM program in Tax Law in the country. So, Tax Law has carte blanche. • That said, oversight is fairly loose. If the money is there, librarians can order whatever they see fit…requests, Yankee slips, librarians’ recommendations.

  15. Materials Processing and Technical Services • All processing is done in house. • Do download some catalog records from vendors. • Most is done by staff cataloguer…quality issue.
